By Murmuration, a Dublin-based collective of theatre artists
Fresh off a presentation at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Co. from Solas Nua Theatre, One Moment Now was originally created by Murmuration, a Dublin-based collective of theatre artists who focus on building rich audio experiences.
“Some people find it hard to sit in a café. Alone. With just their thoughts. Don’t worry, we’re going to keep you company this next while.” In this audio play for one audience member, you’ll be guided through a story — about memory, about grandsons and grandmothers, about coffee shops and hospital visits — through sound, smell, and the pictures you make for yourself out of a simple bag of coffee beans. This 20-minute experience plays out through headphones provided by Tiny Dynamite; come sit with us at Good Karma Cafe.
One Moment Now was originally created by Murmuration as part of the Bewley’s Café Theatre artist-in-residence programme, supported by Bewley’s Café Theatre and Bewley’s Café, Grafton Street.
As this event is a short pop-up experience, the $5 ticket price does not include our customary drink and snack. Join us for New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, and an exciting event in the spring for your pie and pint!
ACCESSIBILITY
Good Karma Cafe is wheelchair accessible. The event is an audio-drama delivered through headphones; volume is adjustable. Audience members will be instructed to make pictures with coffee beans on the table in front of them; if mobility is a concern, contact us to reserve a second set of headphones for an aide.
